In collaboration with Breaking Ground, the College of Education at Roosevelt University will host a day-long writing workshop and reading by internationally acclaimed Black-British poets Roger Robinson and Nick Makoha. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 18 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Room 700.
The reading will begin at 5:00 p.m., and is open to the public. After the reading, there will be a
reception and a question and answer session with the poets and
presenters, including a discussion of approaches to spoken word education in area schools. Click here to learn more and RSVP for this event.
The workshop will be held during the day and is limited to graduate students enrolled in Roosevelt’s Spoken Word Pedagogy Program, other Roosevelt students and faculty, and high school students taught by the teachers enrolled in the Spoken Word Program.
