Nov. 7 Balanced Literacy Workshop

On November 7th, the Language and Literacy Program will again host a free professional development workshop at Roosevelt University from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Library on the 10th floor of the Auditorium Building. The workshop is free to all Roosevelt students, faculty, and alumni.

Each of the schools currently participating in an IBHE grant project will provide an update on where they are with the grant goals. The topics for discussion are:
  • School-wide thematic unit(s): Including tenets of balanced literacy
  • Implementation of formative feedback to students and parents
  • Implementation of formative self-monitoring by students
How each school approaches their work is unique and that is what makes hearing about their work so interesting. So do plan to attend and participate in these terrific opportunity to obtain hands-on knowledge of how several Chicago area schools are creating balanced literacy learning environments.

An RSVP is not required.  If you have questions, contact Dr. Margaret Policastro at mpolicas@roosevelt.edu.
