11:00-12:00 Literacy Leadership Summit (all welcome)
The topic for the balanced literacy workshop on Feb. 20th, from 9:00 -11:00 a.m., will entail Writing across the Tenets of Balanced Literacy. The workshop will include ideas and strategies related to read–alouds, guided reading, centers and independent reading and writing. There will be 4 rotating groups around each of the tenets of balanced literacy, so that all attendees have an opportunity to discuss and share what these look like in their classrooms. The 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. leadership summit will be an opportunity for leaders to share important aspects of the work going on in their schools; all teachers are welcome to stay for this summit. Dianne Gardner-Renn from ISU will be attending and participate in the discussion with all school leaders.
