With H-G Yon, Byoung Kim recently published an article in the Eurasia Journal of Mathematics, Science & Technology Education entitled "Preservice elementary teachers' beliefs about nature of science and constructivist teaching in the content-specific context."
With three other University of Arizona graduates, Erin Mackinney has published a new book, Critical Views on Teaching and Learning English Around the Globe -- Qualitative Research Approaches. In addition to editing the book, Erin wrote a chapter based on her doctoral research in a dual language school in Miami, FL.
Capstone Books has just released Margaret Policastro's new book, Living Literacy at Home: A Parent's Guide. In addition, a grant from the Illinois Board of Higher Education is funding the distribution of two other Capstone books to students enrolled this semester in the Reading and Teaching and Learning MA programs: Formative Assessment in the New Balanced Literacy Classroom (2016), written by Margaret Policastro, Becky McTague, and Diane Mazeski, and The New Balanced Literacy School: Implementing Common Core (2015), written by Policastro and McTague.
Finally, on April 8, Alyson Lavigne will participate in a roundtable session at the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association in Washington, D.C. The title of the session is Critical Knowledge and Development Perceptions of Novice Principals, and the title of Alyson's talk is "Teacher Evaluation Through the Eyes of the Principal: How the Role of Experience and School Context Shape Perceptions."
