Roosevelt's Language and Literacy Program will host a professional development workshop on August 5th that is open to all teachers. The workshop will be from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Gage Building conference room 700. Please bring your lunch or plan on purchasing it from a local restaurant.
An important aspect of this meeting will be defining the roles and responsibilities of balanced literacy teacher leaders (BLTL). We expect that as we discuss what this position should look like, each school and participating teacher will have unique ways of implementation. Another important aspect of this workshop will be to look at the professional readings on leadership and the school-wide book club selections. Additionally, planning on how to implement a new selection of social justice books also will be discussed.
No registration is required. For more information, contact Margaret Policastro at firstname.lastname@example.org.
