New Bilingual/ESL Cohort Starts January 14!

In response to high demand, the Chicago Teachers Union and Roosevelt University are partnering to help teachers earn an ESL or Bilingual endorsement on their Illinois Professional Educator Licenses.

Starting on Jan. 14, a cohort of approximately 25 CPS teachers will begin their studies toward their selected endorsement. The 6 course sequence will be delivered over three semesters, and will consist of one online and one face-to-face course each semester.  All face-to-face classes will be delivered on five Saturdays at the new CTU headquarters at 1901 West Carroll. Parking is free.

CPS teachers who enroll in this special program will be taught by a Roosevelt University faculty member and CTU Professional Development Facilitator Theresa Insalaco-DeCicco

In about a week or so, details will be announced about how to apply for admission to a second cohort that will begin study in March. This new cohort will be open to all CTU members, and will be organized in the same manner.  Teachers who qualify for this cohort will pay a special rate of only $1,080 per course for the six course sequence.

For more information about the new cohort, please contact Ms. Laura Lag, Assistant Dean of Student Services, at 312-853-4753 or llag@roosevelt.edu
