Capstone Literacy Classic in Schaumburg - March 18

Experience an informative demonstration of language and literacy education at Roosevelt’s Capstone Literacy Classic. Capstone Publishing, a longtime advocate of children’s literacy, joins the university to highlight summer initiatives and Roosevelt graduate programs benefiting teachers and learners.

Attendees of this free event will be provided with a complimentary lunch and the opportunity to join in discussions led by Roosevelt’s Professor of Language and Literacy, Dr. Margaret Mary Policastro, and Assistant Principal from Chicago Public Schools’ Bright School, Pam Sanders.

The roundtable discussions will address the critical needs of a dual language classroom, along with implementing a whole school Balanced Literacy Model. Participating teachers will receive samples from Capstone’s new dual language program and its guided reading resource, Engage Literacy. Free copies of Dr. Policastro’s book, Assessment in the New Balanced Literacy Classroom, will also be provided.
